Day 244: How to Stop the Shrieking

Hi – the large featherless being here…..to share a rare glimpse “behind the scenes” into my life as Pearl’s full-time personal assistant.

The truth is, a career as a “personal assistant” is in itself demanding.

If the being you are assisting happens to have feathers, it is likely to be even more demanding.

You can also expect the day’s business to be conducted at the highest possible pitch and volume….all. day. long.

When that pitch and volume reaches a certain point (think “crying infant with colic” or “leashed puppy sees tasty squirrel” and you’ll have a good idea of what that point is) there is only one remedy for it.

Yup.

Whoa! When did this waffle get here? This is highly unusual.
Well, I’ll be! A warm, freshly toasted waffle! Just sitting here! How thoughtful of Mom!
I was about to start singing my encore number, but it can wait. Waffles come first.
She must’ve known I was exhausted from such a long singing performance.
I'll just go ahead and stop for a snack break - I'm sure my fans will understand.
I’ll just dig right in.
MY waffle, Mom. MINE.
MY waffle, Mom. MINE.
I know my fans are waiting, Mom. Just tell them it is "intermission."
Mom, you’re the best. But the fans are waiting – I’d better get back to the stage and finish my performance now!
