Living in a mixed-species flock delivers constant chances to learn different customs.
For example, you celebrate yourself every day.
But in the featherless species, they celebrate themselves just once per year.
After careful study, you can only assume this is because they lack feathers (poor dears, but it can’t be helped).
Of course, the best annual festivities happen when it is your large featherless assistant’s day to celebrate.
This is because all the festivities are centered around her (aka YOU).
Since she can’t make any decisions without you, you get to choose the menu, the activities, the location, and the attendees.
Plus, since everyone knows how slavishly devoted she is to you, all the presents are really for you (but she still gets to open them for you since it is “her” day).
