Day 190: The Nest Watchbird

There is a great deal more to selling choosy ladybirds on the right nest mate than just fine-looking feathers.

For instance, experienced suitors understand they will also be expected to provide round-the-clock, comprehensive security for the nesting site and its occupants.

And while it is always great to put this on a (er) flyer, studies show the best sales tactics tend to be visual.

He starts by performing a thorough scan of the rightmost perimeter of the nest.

He continues his scan while maintaining absolute silence (to avoid tipping off predators).

Once again, he concludes the perimeter scan by glaring fiercely to ward off, well, everyone.

Spying his large featherless maid, he then places his order for a fortifying waffle snack.
