This week’s question comes from a manly manbird eager to start nesting.

Hi Pearl,

I am eager to do some nesting. My problem is this – my nest is so posh and is in such a good location that interlopers keep trying to nest in it!

How do I keep them out of my nest?

Dear Nester,

I see why you wrote to me. No ladybird will want to nest in your nest unless you can guard it for her.

So here is what to do. Whenever you see an interloper, just glare at them. Open your big round eyes as big and round as you can get them and just glare and glare.

This will intimidate them so much they will flee instantly.

With love (& feathers),

Pearl

….as dictated to his large featherless press secretary

Here, Pearl demonstrates "glaring" to send a nest interloper packing quickly.
